How to Connect with CareerEd

Welcome to Stanford and to Stanford Career Education (also known as CareerEd)!  We are excited you are here and are looking forward to meeting each one of you this year.   

When you get to campus you will quickly learn there are many opportunities to engage in, both on and off campus, and a wide variety of majors to explore.  While exciting, it can also feel a little confusing in terms of how to choose among the options. The Frosh/Soph team is here to help. 

The number one question we get from students in the process of exploring is “Where do I begin?” We love this question. The Frosh/Soph team offers a number of resources and services to support you in your exploration and decision making. Here are just a few: 

Coaching  
We offer individual coaching appointments. You can make a 30- or 45-minute appointment through Handshake, our career information portal listing career programs, jobs and internships and appointment times with coaches. 

Weekly Career Newsletter & Listserv
Every Sunday night you will receive our newsletter called CareerEd Connect. Be sure to review the newsletter to discover upcoming workshops and helpful resources. You can also sign up to receive an email listserv of internships and jobs from employers.

Programs  
We offer multiple programs throughout the year focused on the needs of the Frosh/Soph and the transfer community. For all offerings log on to Handshake and visit Events.  

Career Resources  
We also have a variety of online career resources on our website that are intended to support you on your journey. Learn how to write a resume or cover letter, choose a major, or make career decisions, and much more.

We hope to see you at the TreeSource Fair on Thursday, Sept 21st during orientation week. Please swing by to say “hello”. If we miss you, then we look forward to seeing you on campus, at a program or in a coaching appointment.
