The FLI Office was established as a stand-alone office in 2018. Previously, we were housed under the Diversity and First-Gen office, which was established in 2011.

  • FLI Alumni Mentoring Group - connect with over 200 alums in the Stanford Alumni Mentoring programi who identify as FLI
  • First Gen Journey - stories of success from first-generation professionals
  • Council on Legal Education Opportunity (CLEO), Inc. - a national organization that expands opportunities for minority and low-income students to attend law school
  • FirstGEN Fellows - a ten-week summer program in the D.C. area for undergraduate students who are the first in their immediate families to attend an institution of higher education, and who are passionate about pursuing careers in social justice
  • FLI Student Strengths - an article focused on the strengths and values that FLI students bring to higher education
  • Whistling Vivaldi: How Stereotypes Affect Us and What We Can Do - a book focused on mitigating “stereotype threats” and reshaping American identities
  • Young Invincibles (YI) - a 10-week paid fellowship program that helps to support research projects, policy initiatives, digital and traditional media strategies, on-the-ground organizing, issue advocacy campaigns, consulting, and beyond
