Director of Employer Relations & Outcomes

Xiaotang Huang

Tell us something interesting about your background.

Chinese is my first language. I learned English and most American pop culture references from watching "Friends." Growing up in a collectivist culture but living and working in an individualist culture, it really helps me appreciate each individual's differences and motivates me to promote intercultural understanding and connections.

What has led you to your current role?

I came to the United States as an international student for my Master of Public Administration degree. I worked for Asian American Business Development Center in NYC to promote greater recognition of Asian American businesses’ contributions. Following that, I worked for One To World to foster intercultural understanding among Fulbright scholars and the local community. Most recently, I worked for Princeton University's Career Development Center to set employer engagement strategies and build meaningful connections between students and diverse industries. I'm passionate about building connections for people to gain access to the opportunities and solutions that support them to reach their full potential.

In your spare time, what do you enjoy doing?

Prior to COVID and having a baby, I enjoyed getting lost in new places and finding new hiking trails. The walking distances are much shorter now, but I still like to take a walk in the city or in nature. It helps me spend quality time with my family and calm my mind.
