Lydia Erickson

Tell us something interesting about your background.
After several years of teaching, I realized that what I loved most about my work was helping students achieve their dreams, which led me to complete a Master's degree in Career and College Counseling at San Francisco State University.

What has led you to your current role?
I was drawn to Stanford because I’ve loved helping the helpers while counseling graduate students at UCSF. I also appreciated Stanford’s focus on meaningful work and this team’s narrative approach to helping phD and postdoc students.

In your spare time, what do you enjoy doing?
In my spare time, I read and write speculative fiction, study Spanish and French, and train my 9-month-old rescue puppy, Kai. I also enjoy travel.
